Fitment
Please include your vehicle registration in “special instructions for seller” in the shopping cart so we can confirm fitment.
Although we try to ensure the alternators are a straight direct fit, there may still be a need for slight modification such as slight grinding or spacing of the case or pulley, or longer mounting bolts. Most high output alternators come with a smaller pulley than standard, so a shorter belt could be required. We will do all we can to support this and resolve any issues during installation.
Fitting an aftermarket alternator may bring up dash lights/faults. This is generally not an issue for function but more of a nuisance. If you want full compatibility, make this known before ordering so we can discuss options.
Lead times
All of our alternators are built to order, by hand. Standard lead time is approximately 6–8 weeks from order to shipping (see each listing), and can vary depending on the time of year and backlog.
Need it faster? We offer a £50 fast-track option on the majority of our alternators – approximately 2 weeks from order to shipping.
We don't recommend booking an installation date until the alternator is in your possession. If you haven't had a reply to a query within 72 hours, please feel free to send a polite reminder – it's very busy behind the scenes, but your order is being worked on.
Warranty
12 months warranty on parts and labour, including full support on installation and operation once the alternator is delivered. Return shipping for warranty claims is arranged free of charge.
Warranty does not include costs to remove and/or reinstall the alternator, and covers defects out of your control – not user error. If user error has caused a failure, we'll quote for the repair including collection and return costs.
Returns & refunds
Most alternators are made to order. Returns are accepted, but a 25% surcharge will be deducted from any refund to cover administrative, restocking and shipping costs, and return shipping is paid by the buyer.
A 20% surcharge will be deducted from any refund requested more than 7 days after payment, to cover administrative and restocking costs.
Remanufactured & new units
Some alternators are remanufactured (each listing states the condition). They are refurbished to a high standard, replacing any wearable, perishable or end-of-life parts – bearings, brushes, seals, pulleys, rectifiers, regulators, stators, rotors or cases. They may show cosmetic signs of previous use, none of which affect longevity. If you'd prefer brand-new, ask us for a price. The warranty is the same either way.
Custom finish
Alternators can be painted in a colour of your choice using a hard-wearing 2-pack epoxy paint. Specify a colour code in the notes to seller and we will match as closely as possible.
* Output figures assume a crank-to-alternator pulley ratio of 1:3; different ratios may change stated outputs marginally.
